I'm an Actor Who Makes Shit

Ever wonder what actors do in their free time.

Okay I'm not talking about Jennifer Lawrence or JGL kind of actors, I mean those actors you see on TV show the you probably barely noticed and said all of 5 lines. What do those guys do in their free time?

If you're like most smart asses in LA, you might have answered "Well, they wait tables." Okay, fine, probably true. Gotta eat and pay the rent. But a lot of us (I say "us" cause, yes, I am an actor) do A LOT of stuff in our free time.

As many of my friends and work colleges know, when I'm not auditioning, sitting on set, producing my own work or waiting for the phone to ring I like to make stuff. Crafty stuff I guess you can say but I hate that term. "Crafty" just conjures up the image of dolls with button legs and those really ugly granny square vest that were so popular with aging mothers in the early 90s. Cool crafting, stuff that's inspiring and beautiful.

I've been reading Martha Stewart Magazine for yeeeeeeeears, not to mention Real Simple and tons of craft books. I make all kinds of stuff and then just give it away to friends and family. My apartment is so full already. All these beautiful things I make, and they need a place to go.

Till last week.... A dear friend of mine (also a brilliant actor and budding director) had coffee with me and suggested I open my own shop.  Having been the recipient of many of my pieces she can attest that I have a gift.

So here I am. I opened my shop on Etsy with simple but beautiful Paper Garlands that I love making.

Color combinations conjure up such amazing feelings for me and I adore paper, paper of all kinds.

It's not perfect, it's a work in progress but I'm pretty proud.
